New speed activated signs for village.

It's been a long time coming but we now have the funding to help put the brakes on speeding.

It is with pleasure and a certain amount of relief that I am able to let you know that Toft Monks is finally going to get 2 Vehicle Activated Speed Signs to be located at either end of the 40mph Limit on the A143.

This has been enabled by funding from the Parish Partnership Scheme together with County Councillor Barry Stone, and The Toft Monks Community Group, Bel Capps-Jenner who, back in 2024, knocked on many of your doors for funds and all those who generously supported her mission.

The Total cost of the two VAS's is £14342.

In addition to the above I would like to acknowledge the efforts of The Speedwatch Group and Gary Overland from Highways.

Hopefully this is just the start of making the roads in and around our village safer going forward.
